Institution: | University of Krakow |
Name of the need: | University staff need directions on how to deal with disabled students. The Office needs to find a way to reach teachers with information of the disability etiquette at the beginning of each term. |
State of the need: | Partially fulfilled by internal services |
Student's areas involved: | Studying Having an exam and practical course/internship Dealing with professor and administrative staff |
Description of the need: |
The interviewed teachers underlined insufficient knowledge and information on e.g. how to behave when they start classes in a new group of students including SWI(s). Should they ask whether someone is disabled? Should they be informed beforehand that they will have a disabled person in class? According to the Office staff, it is not obvious to some teachers that students with hidden disabilities should receive support. |
